The Vinland Valley FC Academics had a marvelous showing in the recent Leawood/KC Soccer Fest. The U9 Boys dominated the competition, never allowing a single goal on their way to the championship. The U11 Boys avenged an earlier loss in a come-from-behind shootout victory. And the U9 Girls stormed through their pool and nearly won Vinland's 3rd gold medal of the weekend before giving up two late goals and falling 2-3 in the final.
FC Academics Under 9 Boys vs. KC Storm U9
The FC Academics Under 9 Boys played against KC Storm FC, a mid level premier team, Thursday night, May 3rd at Lone Elm Park in Olathe. The boys competed very well after giving up two quick goals. Devin Prather scored the Academics lone goal on an assist by Grady McCune. Henry Morgenstern and Jake Berg received the coach's Hustle Award.
FC Academics Under 11 Boys vs. KC Storm U11
The FC Academics Under 11 Boys played against KC Storm FC, a mid level premier team, Thursday night, May 3rd at Lone Elm Park in Olathe. The boys competed very well and had some good moments. Dylan Jamison, Grady McCune and Colby Zimmerman each scored a goal apiece for the FC Academics. Jacob Bailey and Kaedon Friend received the coach's Hustle Award.
What is Vinland Valley Soccer?
Players that attend Vinland Valley Soccer Association work on individual skills at a young age. The repetition of skill through games and activities during training help develop a confidence in the player.

Two Harbors Soccer Camp Video
Ethan Temple, of the Vinland Valley Soccer Academy, and family came up to the North Shore of Lake Superior for vacation this summer and participated with Coach McCune's kids, Grady and Marley, in the Two Harbors Soccer Camp. In all, there were 45 players at camp. Kate Ferrari was named MVP of the Vinland Harbors Cup during the camp. This video was created by the Temples.
